Since the launch of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a colorful mix of heroes, and a exciting storyline featuring celestial beings, evil spirits, and dark forces expanding in power within the urban setting.
Warning: Spoilers for the third episode of this adventure follow below.
The Warrior Group Revealed
The latest chapter concluded with a huge suspense moment and introduced the premier party of heroes who will split off from the central cast to begin their own adventure, separate from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table features Teor Pridesire (portrayed by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (the cast member), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
Considering a large ensemble, it was evident from the start that maintaining everyone at a single group would be impossible.
This explains, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, weaving together the individual narratives before branching into three distinct groups: Fighters, Strategists, and Questers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who prefer a classically intense combat and conflict-driven story mode where diplomatic options are scarce.
Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander might seem out of place, but the events of the latest installment make it clear why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
First, the party knows exactly where to go next after a violent initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose death started the story’s plot—exploited the enemy for his own means, breaking into the hidden lair, attacking the rogue, and stealing all the powerful objects to dispose of.
The traitor then paid off his liabilities and escaped to a fortified location in the remote area, beyond the city, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each adventurer has a individual motive to depart Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as the companion and closest confidant, wants vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure knows Timmony and warns that it is a hostile location.
- The strong character and The cleric, having defied his house’s orders to execute Teor and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- But, their status as prominent individuals in the powerful family could enable the group reach areas they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, Teor vowed a life debt to Wicander for his rescue and will now go with him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are sought by the authorities that control Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally dangerous:
- Thimble and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and The cleric turned against the powerful family and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the family.
This leaves them no alternative but to journey toward Timmony in search of the traitor.
What’s Next?
From episode three’s Cooldown, we learn that the Soldiers table will not appear next week, leaving the rest of the cast members to form the Explorers and Planners groups.
Fans can look forward to discovering which characters will be where in the story’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on next week.
